City of Rio Rancho Rainbow Boulevard Connection Project

The City of Rio Rancho announces the early phases of the Rainbow Boulevard Connection Project. The project area encompasses 2.65 miles of the Rainbow Boulevard corridor from Southern Boulevard in Rio Rancho to Irving Boulevard in Albuquerque. This project will provide a corridor study to determine preliminary and final design.

The purpose of the project study is to:

  • Analyze corridor alignments to determine a preferred alternative
  • Assess current conditions and develop pavement and drainage improvement alternatives
  • Evaluate multi-modal provisions for all users
  • Enhance connectivity and support planned and future corridor development
  • Identify necessary Right-of-Way (ROW) for the proposed alternative
